The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) expresses its grave concern over the continued unilateral actions of U.S. President Donald Trump, particularly his use of executive orders that have disrupted global diplomacy, undermined international cooperation, and intensified existing conflicts.
Trump’s reliance on executive orders during his presidency to bypass established multilateral frameworks highlights a troubling trend of disregard for international law and global consensus. From recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital to imposing travel bans targeting Muslim-majority countries, these orders have not only destabilized the Middle East but also eroded trust in the US as a mediator for peace.
MAPIM is especially alarmed by Trump’s recent statements, suggesting the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza to neighbouring countries such as Egypt and Jordan. Such rhetoric not only echoes colonialist policies but also poses a direct threat to the stability of the region. By sidelining Palestinian rights and promoting unilateral solutions, Trump has alienated global allies and deepened the suffering of oppressed populations.
These executive orders and public statements reflect a pattern of policy-making that prioritizes short-term gains at the expense of long-term stability. Trump’s approach has pitted the U.S. against the broader global community, undermining international norms and marginalizing voices advocating for justice, peace, and equality.
MAPIM calls upon the international community to stand united against such unilateral actions that disregard the principles of fairness and humanity. We urge global leaders to reaffirm their commitment to multilateralism and to challenge policies that perpetuate inequality and injustice.
The world must not remain silent in the face of actions that threaten global peace and security. MAPIM stands resolute in its commitment to justice and calls for collective efforts to address the root causes of conflict while holding accountable those who seek to undermine the rights of oppressed people.
