We condemn the arrogance and egotistical stance reflected by Trump in his remark , referring to Eygpt and Jordan , “They will do it.” when he has doubled down on his proposal to ‘move’ Palestinians from Gaza to Jordan and Egypt, despite both countries rejecting the idea.
Trump’s insistence on relocating Palestinians from Gaza to Jordan and Egypt, despite both countries outright rejecting the idea, reflects a disregard for the sovereignty and agency of those nations, as well as the Palestinians themselves.
This proposal, which amounts to forced displacement, is not only unrealistic but also deeply problematic from a humanitarian and legal standpoint.
Such rhetoric disregards the history and rights of Palestinians, ignoring their connection to their land and the broader implications of forced population transfers. Moreover, pushing this idea despite strong regional opposition demonstrates a level of arrogance that dismisses the perspectives of those directly affected.
It’s not the first time Trump has made controversial statements about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but this particular stance exacerbates tensions and could further destabilize the region.
If Trump is indeed pressuring Egypt and Jordan to accept displaced Palestinians from Gaza, despite their firm rejection, it would be a serious and dangerous move.
Such a policy would violate international law, destabilize both countries, and escalate regional tensions.
Both Egypt and Jordan have repeatedly stated that they will not accept the forced displacement of Palestinians, seeing it as a threat to their sovereignty and a way to erase Palestinian claims to their land. Forcing them to comply through political or economic threats would only deepen resentment and resistance.
This approach also ignores the core issue—the occupation and humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Instead of pushing for forced displacement, international efforts should focus on ending the violence, securing Palestinian rights, and working toward a just and lasting resolution to the conflict.
Arab leaders must stand firm against Trump’s proposal and reject any forced displacement of Palestinians. Accepting such a plan would not only violate Palestinian rights but also set a dangerous precedent for ethnic cleansing and forced population transfers.
Instead, Arab nations should unite in demanding that Israel end its occupation and respect Palestinian sovereignty. The focus must be on achieving a just and lasting solution—one that ensures Palestinian self-determination, secures their right to return, and upholds international law.
If Arab leaders remain passive, this proposal could gain traction, leading to irreversible consequences for Palestine and the region. Strong, unified opposition—alongside global pressure—is necessary to prevent this dangerous agenda from being implemented.
