April 1 , 2025
The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM), the Alliance of World Mosques in Defence of Al Aqsa (MANAR), and the Secretariat for the Ulama Assembly of Asia (SHURA) stand united in condemning the horrific genocide and humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces. The violence being perpetrated against the Palestinian people, particularly against innocent civilians, is beyond comprehension and cannot be ignored by the international community.
The Israeli occupation army has waged an indiscriminate war on Gaza, leading to the brutal deaths of over 61,000 Palestinians, including more than 30,000 women and children. The systematic and calculated destruction of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure, health services, schools, and places of worship is a clear violation of international law and basic human decency. Over 7,200 families have been obliterated, and thousands of lives are being destroyed daily.
The siege imposed by Israel has led to the deliberate deprivation of vital resources, causing mass starvation and suffering. The entry of humanitarian aid has been completely blocked, with 18,600 aid trucks and 1,550 fuel trucks being prevented from entering Gaza. Medical personnel, including over 1,400 doctors and nurses, have been killed, and over 240 medical centers have been destroyed. This is an intentional act of extermination, with no regard for the sanctity of life or the basic rights of the Palestinian people.
We strongly condemn the horrific and brutal crime committed by the Israeli occupation army, which deliberately targeted and executed 15 humanitarian workers in cold blood. The victims include 8 paramedics from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, 6 members of the Palestinian Civil Defense teams, and an employee of the UNRWA. These dedicated individuals were carrying out a humanitarian mission to evacuate the wounded in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, after responding to an urgent distress call. This massacre of aid workers further underscores Israel’s blatant disregard for the protection of civilians and those delivering humanitarian assistance in times of crisis.
We are witnessing not only a humanitarian catastrophe but also a systematic attempt to erase Palestinian existence in Gaza, using starvation, violence, and the destruction of vital services as tools of oppression. The targeting of hospitals, educational institutions, mosques, churches, and now humanitarian workers only deepens the cruelty and exposes the true nature of the Israeli occupation’s intentions.
MAPIM, MANAR, and SHURA call for the following actions to be taken immediately:
- Full condemnation of Israel’s actions as genocide and ethnic cleansing, with a call for all free nations to speak out against this blatant violation of human rights and international law.
- Accountability for the Israeli occupation forces, the U.S. administration, and the countries complicit in these crimes, such as Britain, Germany, and France. These governments must be held responsible for their role in enabling these atrocities.
- Urgent international intervention to stop the ongoing genocide and war crimes, with immediate action taken to hold Israeli war criminals accountable before international courts.
- An independent, transparent investigation into the crimes committed by Israel, including the massacre of humanitarian aid workers, with perpetrators being prosecuted under international law to ensure justice for the Palestinian people.
- Pressure on Israel to lift the siege on Gaza, allowing the unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid, medical supplies, and fuel to alleviate the suffering of civilians and to ensure compliance with international humanitarian law.
- A call for the end of international complicity in these crimes, with all nations being urged to take a stand against the Israeli occupation and in support of the Palestinian people’s right to freedom, dignity, and self-determination.
The Palestinian people in Gaza will continue their resistance and struggle for justice, but they cannot do so alone. The international community must stand with them, condemn these atrocities, and take meaningful action to end the violence. The time for rhetoric is over. Immediate action is needed to stop the genocide and ensure peace, dignity, and justice for the Palestinian people.
