The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) strongly condemns the ongoing atrocities committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza, particularly the deliberate targeting and mass killing of children. The recent report by UNICEF, which confirms that at least 322 children have been killed and 609 others injured since Israel launched its renewed offensive on March 18, 2025, is yet another tragic testament to Israel’s blatant disregard for human rights and international law.
The slaughter of innocent children is the most heinous crime against humanity. Children in Gaza are being systematically murdered, maimed, and deprived of their fundamental right to live in peace and dignity. The figures provided by UNICEF further reveal that over the past 18 months, more than 15,000 children have been killed, over 34,000 injured, and nearly one million displaced repeatedly due to Israel’s relentless bombing campaigns.
The recent escalation has seen Israel imposing a complete blockade on humanitarian aid since March 2, causing severe malnutrition, disease, and a humanitarian catastrophe that disproportionately affects children. The calculated decision to deny food, water, and medical supplies to a besieged population is not just a war crime—it is genocide in its most insidious form.
Israel’s claims that it is mitigating civilian harm and adhering to international law are outright fabrications. The indiscriminate bombardment of Gaza, the refusal to allow aid into the enclave, and the targeting of civilians, including aid workers, medical personnel, and journalists, all constitute undeniable violations of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions.
MAPIM unequivocally demands:
1️⃣ An immediate cessation of Israel’s war crimes against children and civilians in Gaza.
2️⃣ Urgent international intervention to hold Israel accountable for its atrocities, including prosecution at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
3️⃣ A global boycott of Israel in all economic, diplomatic, and political spheres until the genocide stops.
4️⃣ The immediate lifting of the blockade on Gaza to allow unrestricted humanitarian aid and medical assistance.
5️⃣ The United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and world governments to act decisively and not remain complicit through inaction.
The killing of children is a red line that humanity must never tolerate. The world cannot continue to turn a blind eye while Israel systematically exterminates Palestinian children under the guise of “security operations.” We call upon all nations, organizations, and individuals of conscience to rise against this ongoing genocide.
