MAPIM strongly condemns Israel’s airstrikes on Syria, which have resulted in infrastructure destruction and civilian casualties. This attack is yet another proof of the Zionist regime’s arrogance in violating international law and destabilizing the Middle East region.
Israel is executing its expansionist policies to weaken Syria and Lebanon, paving the way for further annexation of more territories. The Greater Israel plan is now underway. Historically, Israel has systematically expanded its borders through military aggression and illegal occupation. From the Nakba in 1948 to the occupation of the Golan Heights in 1967, Israel has never ceased its territorial ambitions.
Arab nations should remember that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has openly presented his vision at the UN General Assembly (UNGA) on September 27, 2024, displaying a new map of the Middle East that envisions Israel’s expansion across the entire Levant region. In his speech, Netanyahu asserted Israel’s ongoing conflict with Hezbollah and its right to strike at Iran and its proxies, stating, “There is no place in Iran that the long arm of Israel cannot reach. And that’s true of the entire Middle East.” This is a blatant indication of Israel’s long-term strategy to dominate the region by erasing the borders of sovereign Arab nations. The Arab and Islamic nations must not repeat their historical divisions when it comes to defending their sovereignty. Israel, with full backing from Western imperialist powers, has been enabled to annex parts of Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria in the past. Failure to act decisively will only embolden Israel to accelerate its expansionist agenda, further eroding the territorial integrity of Arab states.
We call on Islamic nations and the international community to take firm action against Israel, including:
- Urging the UN Security Council to take immediate action to stop Israel’s attacks.
- Imposing economic and military sanctions on Israel.
- Strengthening support for Syria in defending its sovereignty.
- Sending humanitarian aid to the victims of Israel’s attacks in Syria.
Israel’s aggression cannot be allowed to continue without consequences. The world must unite in opposing the increasingly rampant Zionist regime.
We will not remain silent in the face of this injustice. The world must open its eyes and raise its voice to end the suffering of the people of Gaza and Syria, which is becoming increasingly critical.
