Call to Professors and Scientific Experts: Be the Torchbearers of Humanity and Justice
Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid

Pre-Conference Workshop of Regional Muslim Scientists
📍Shah Alam, Malaysia | 📆 12 June 2025
In the name of Knowledge, Truth, and Moral Responsibility. We stand today at a crossroads in history where science and technology are advancing faster than ever before, yet justice, compassion, and moral accountability remain elusive for much of the world.
As professors, researchers, and scientists, we are not mere observers. We are custodians of knowledge — and with that, comes a sacred duty.
We call upon all scientific minds to rise — not only as discoverers — but as defenders of truth, dignity, and justice.
🌍 Why This Call Matters :
Science without conscience is a recipe for destruction.
Knowledge without compassion empowers oppression.
Innovation without ethics widens global injustice.
From climate collapse to war zones, from pandemic inequity to AI abuse, humanity cries not only for knowledge — but for moral direction. We can no longer separate our intellectual pursuits from the real suffering of people and planet.
🕊 What We Must Do:
Advance Science for Peace, Not War: Say No to militarization of research. Use your knowledge to build peace and protect life.
Serve the Marginalized and Voiceless: Focus innovation on healthcare, education, food security, and climate solutions for the most vulnerable.
Speak Truth to Power: Be fearless in calling out injustice — whether in governments, corporations, or systems that exploit.
Bridge Science with Faith and Ethics: Reclaim the prophetic role of the intellectual — to guide society with wisdom and responsibility.
Revive the Civilizational Role of Muslim Scientists: Follow the footsteps of scholars like Al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, Al-Zahrawi, and Ibn Khaldun — who united science with service to humanity.
🕊 Let this be our pledge :
That our laboratories will be sanctuaries of truth.
That our lectures will awaken moral imagination.
That our discoveries will serve not empires, but people.
That we will rise — as Scientists for Justice, Professors for Peace, and Guardians of a Madani Civilization.
