CALL TO UN MEMBER STATES: RECOGNISE PALESTINE, SACK AND SANCTION ISRAEL

The Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM) issues this urgent call to all United Nations Member States to act with moral courage and political will in the face of Israel’s escalating genocide and war crimes against the Palestinian people.

For decades, Israel has systematically violated international law, defied UN Security Council resolutions, and committed grave crimes against humanity, including:

●The mass killing of civilians, including children and women;

●The deliberate targeting of hospitals, schools, residential towers, and places of worship;

●The forced displacement of Palestinians and the destruction of entire neighborhoods;

●The assassination and imprisonment of journalists, aid workers, and community leaders;

●The continuation of occupation, annexation, and an entrenched apartheid system.

The credibility of the United Nations and the global order is now under its greatest test. To remain silent or inactive is to be complicit in genocide.

MAPIM therefore calls upon all UN Member States to take the following urgent actions:

1. Recognise the State of Palestine with full sovereignty and grant Palestine full membership in the United Nations without delay.
2. Suspend and expel Israel from the United Nations for its persistent defiance of the UN Charter, disregard for international law, and contempt for global human rights standards.
3. Impose comprehensive sanctions — including diplomatic, economic, military, and cultural boycotts — on Israel until it ceases its occupation, dismantles its apartheid regime, and complies with international obligations.
4. Ensure accountability by supporting the International Criminal Court (ICC) and establishing an international tribunal to prosecute Israeli leaders responsible for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.
5. Deploy international protection mechanisms under UN mandate to safeguard the Palestinian people, ensure humanitarian access, and uphold their right to self-determination.

The world can no longer afford empty statements while innocent lives are extinguished daily. Failure to act now will mark the death of international law and the moral collapse of the global community.

MAPIM insists: The time for Palestine’s recognition is now. The time to hold Israel accountable is now. The time to stand on the side of justice is now.

Recognise Palestine. Sack and sanction Israel. Save the credibility of the United Nations.
