MAPIM: A Voice for the Ummah and Humanity
The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organisation (MAPIM) is a non-governmental body, registered under the Registrar of Societies Act of Malaysia in 2012 .
Mooted at the Muslim Congress of Malaysia in 2006, the movement was formed following a consensus by 200 Islamic organisations at the Malaysian Conference of Islamic NGOs in 2008.
Its initial aim was to become a consultative forum to address the many issues and challenges of the ummah in particular and humanity in general. Subsequently, it evolved into a platform to voice the concerns of the ummah, both nationally and internationally.
MAPIM focuses on the fundamental principles of ummah building, namely unity, justice, and peace, and dedicates its resources to developing Islamic individuals and community practices, social development, and humanitarian and welfare assistance, besides working for the liberation of the ummah from oppression, economic dependency, education and knowledge advancement, and molding cultural and Islamic lifestyles.
