Press Release
15th February 2025
The ongoing suffering of the people of Kashmir remains one of the most pressing humanitarian and human rights crises in the world today. As the Kashmiri people continue to endure hardships, suppression, and violations of their fundamental rights, it is imperative for Muslim scholars, Ulama, and religious leaders across the globe to raise their voices in solidarity with Kashmir.
WHY KASHMIR NEEDS ULAMA SUPPORT
Muslim scholars and Ulama have always played a pivotal role in advocating for justice, protecting human rights, and guiding communities in times of hardship. The plight of Kashmir is not just a political issue—it is a humanitarian, ethical, and religious concern that demands their active involvement.
- A Voice for the Oppressed: Ulama have a moral responsibility to stand against oppression and injustice. The people of Kashmir have suffered decades of persecution, and their voices must be amplified through religious leaders.
- Islamic Duty of Solidarity: Islam teaches the importance of unity, justice, and supporting the oppressed. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized the duty of Muslims to assist their suffering brothers and sisters, and Kashmir is no exception.
- Combating Misinformation: The narrative around Kashmir is often distorted by political agendas. Ulama can educate their communities on the reality of the crisis and encourage informed, peaceful activism.
- Mobilizing Humanitarian Aid: Scholars and religious institutions can encourage donations and aid efforts to support Kashmiri families affected by violence, displacement, and economic hardship.
- Advocacy at Global Forums: Through their influence, Ulama can raise awareness at international platforms, urging governments, human rights organizations, and global leaders to intervene and uphold justice.
- Spiritual and Moral Support: The people of Kashmir need hope and reassurance that they are not forgotten. Religious leaders can provide moral and spiritual guidance to keep their faith strong in the face of adversity.
CALL TO ACTION
We urge the global Muslim leadership, scholars, and Ulama to:
- Raise awareness about the humanitarian crisis in Kashmir through sermons, public addresses, and educational initiatives.
- Condemn human rights violations and support international efforts to bring justice to the Kashmiri people.
- Advocate for peace and justice in Kashmir by engaging with governments, international organizations, and human rights bodies.
- Stand united in calling for a peaceful resolution that ensures the dignity, rights, and self-determination of the Kashmiri people.
Now is the time to act. The suffering of the people of Kashmir cannot be ignored any longer. The voices of justice, truth, and humanity must prevail.
