MAPIM FULLY SUPPORTS UK MP IMRAN HUSSAIN’S CALL FOR COMPLETE SANCTIONS ON ISRAEL
The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organisations (MAPIM) strongly supports the bold and principled stand of UK Member of Parliament Imran Hussain in calling for a total and immediate sanctions regime against the state of Israel in response to its relentless atrocities in Gaza and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
We commend MP Imran Hussain for upholding the highest standards of humanity and international justice by confronting the complicity of world powers and demanding a complete economic, military and diplomatic blockade of Israel until it halts its genocidal aggression and complies with international law.
For over seven months, Israel has waged a brutal, unrelenting war on Gaza, leading to the deaths of over 61,000 Palestinians, including women, children, journalists, doctors and aid workers. The destruction of hospitals, schools, and civilian infrastructure, coupled with a deliberate blockade of food and medical aid, has resulted in mass famine, displacement and suffering. This is not a conflict — this is genocide.
MP Imran Hussain’s call is timely and essential. The world can no longer afford to offer lip service to peace while continuing business as usual with a regime that defies every international convention. Sanctions, embargoes and total diplomatic isolation must be the minimum response to war crimes.
MAPIM calls on the Malaysian Government, all OIC member states, ASEAN, the Global South, and civil society across the world to echo and amplify this demand for full sanctions:
Immediate arms embargo and cessation of all military cooperation with Israel
Suspension of trade, investment, and technological collaboration with Israeli entities
Revocation of diplomatic ties and denial of entry to Israeli officials and supporters of the genocide
Unhindered support for the ICC and ICJ proceedings against Israeli war crimes and apartheid
We salute MP Imran Hussain as a moral voice in a time of global silence. MAPIM is ready to mobilize international coalitions, including the World Mosque Alliance (MANAR), to pressure world leaders to act in the face of genocide.
The time for declarations is over — now is the time for decisive action.
