FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ISRAEL’S NON-STOP MASSACRES: A PEACEKEEPING FORCE IS NOT ENOUGH – ONLY A GLOBAL MILITARY INTERVENTION CAN STOP THE GENOCIDE
The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) is appalled by the unrelenting massacres carried out by the Israeli regime in Gaza, where no target is off-limits — not hospitals, not journalists, not starving civilians.
On May 12, Israeli warplanes bombed the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, assassinating renowned Palestinian journalist Hassan Eslaih in what is clearly a deliberate targeting of media professionals. This heinous act follows the murder of at least 39 Palestinians in a single day, bringing the confirmed death toll to a staggering 61,700, with over 119,648 injured, and thousands more buried under rubble.
Despite repeated international condemnations, including the UN Secretary General’s urgent appeal to end the blockade on Gaza, the Israeli war machine continues with total impunity. Even the warnings from global humanitarian agencies — that one in five Gazans now face starvation — have failed to halt Israel’s siege and aggression.
The Failure of Diplomacy and Peacekeeping
It is clear that diplomatic pressure and peacekeeping efforts have utterly failed. While Israel pretends to negotiate through intermediaries, it continues to expand its genocidal campaign. The recent plan named “Operation Gideon’s Chariots”, as exposed by the International Crisis Group, is not a humanitarian mission but a political ploy to weaponize aid and subjugate an already starving population.
The so-called aid mechanism being proposed, now rebranded by the United States, is “not merely insufficient, but misguided and dangerous,” in the words of the ICG. While tens of thousands of tonnes of food and medicine sit at Gaza’s borders, Israel continues to block entry, deepening malnutrition and forcing a famine upon a trapped civilian population.
MAPIM’s Position
MAPIM asserts that:
- Peacekeeping efforts without enforcement power will not deter Israel. The time has passed for passive diplomacy and ineffective UN resolutions.
- Only a global military intervention under a multilateral mandate can stop the genocide. The world must act collectively and decisively to impose a military no-fly zone, open humanitarian corridors, and disarm Israel’s offensive capabilities.
- The blockade on Gaza must be broken immediately. The entry of aid must not be made conditional on Israeli terms.
- The International Criminal Court must expedite arrest warrants against Israeli leaders, including Netanyahu, for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.
The world has watched far too long. Gaza has become the graveyard of international law and the shame of global silence. The Israeli regime has made it clear — no ceasefire will be honored, no hospital spared, no child protected.
The moral credibility of the international community is on trial. If nothing is done now, history will remember not only the perpetrators, but also those who stood by in cowardice and complicity.
