🇲🇾 Malaysian Medical Ptofessionals and Health Workers Must Condemn the Destruction of Hospitals in Gaza and Mobilize Solidarity to Rebuild Gaza’s Health System
The Malaysian medical fraternity — encompassing doctors, nurses, pharmacists, paramedics, and all allied health professionals — must rise in urgent and unified condemnation of the repeated and deliberate Israeli attacks on hospitals in Gaza, particularly the latest airstrikes on Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, which was bombed for the eleventh time on 4 th June 2025.
This systematic targeting of Gaza’s healthcare system is not only a blatant war crime under international law, including the Geneva Conventions, but a moral outrage that strikes at the very heart of humanity. Hospitals, medical personnel, and the sick and injured must never be treated as military targets.
The most recent attack — three drone strikes directly on the hospital rooftop — is part of an ongoing genocidal campaign that has already rendered Gaza’s health system near collapse. From January 2024 to the present day, this single hospital has been bombed eleven times, showing clear intent to destroy any remaining capacity to care for Gaza’s wounded and sick.
We, Malaysian health professionals, rooted in the values of mercy, ethics, and global solidarity, must not remain silent.
We therefore declare:
- STRONG CONDEMNATION
We denounce in the strongest terms the Israeli occupation’s deliberate and repeated attacks on hospitals and medical facilities in Gaza. These are crimes against humanity that must be prosecuted in international courts. - MORAL AND PROFESSIONAL DUTY
As health workers committed to the sanctity of life, we stand in solidarity with our colleagues in Gaza who continue to risk their lives to serve the wounded and dying. Their resilience must be matched with our public advocacy, pressure, and action. - CALL FOR INTERNATIONAL PROTECTION
We call upon the Malaysian Government, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the United Nations, and all international humanitarian bodies to demand immediate protection for hospitals and medical staff in Gaza. - MOBILIZATION OF FINANCIAL AID AND MEDICAL SUPPORT
We urge all Malaysian hospitals, clinics, professional associations (such as MMA, MAP, MPS, MAHSA, and others), and civil society organizations to:
● Launch emergency fundraising campaigns to rebuild Gaza’s health system
● Send medical supplies and equipment to besieged hospitals
● Facilitate volunteer missions and telemedicine support for Gaza’s health personnel
- PUBLIC AWARENESS AND ACTION
Malaysian health institutions and universities should hold public forums, white coat rallies, and educational programs to raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis and strengthen public pressure on international bodies to act.

When a hospital is bombed and the world is silent, the moral compass of humanity falters. We, Malaysian medical and health workers, must choose the side of life over death, justice over oppression, and healing over destruction.
