INTRODUCTION: A WORLD OF DOUBLE STANDARDS
We, the undersigned organisations, express grave concern over the escalating geopolitical crisis in West Asia, where global pressure is being directed at Iran over the Strait of Hormuz, while the ongoing atrocities in Gaza continue with impunity.
This contradiction reflects a deeply unjust international order.
HORMUZ: A GLOBAL ARTERY, NOT A TOOL OF SELECTIVE PRESSURE
The Strait of Hormuz carries approximately 20 percent of the world’s oil supply, making it one of the most critical energy routes on earth.
Disruptions to this vital passage have already caused global economic instability, rising fuel prices, and widespread hardship.
Yet, instead of addressing the root causes of instability, global actors are:
●Applying coordinated pressure on Iran
●Ignoring the ongoing aggression that triggered escalation
●Threatening further militarisation of the region
DOUBLE STANDARDS EXPOSED
We state clearly:
👉 When strategic waterways are controlled by Western powers, it is called “security”
👉 When Iran asserts its position, it is labelled a “threat”
👉 When Gaza is starved, the world remains silent
👉 When global oil flows are disrupted, the world reacts immediately
This selective outrage exposes a system that values markets over human lives.
GAZA: THE REAL HUMANITARIAN CATASTROPHE
While pressure mounts on Iran, the people of Gaza continue to suffer:
-●Ongoing blockade depriving civilians of food, water and medicine
●Continuous violations despite ceasefire arrangements
●Systematic destruction of homes, infrastructure and civilian life
We therefore state unequivocally:
👉 The blockade on Gaza must end immediately
👉 Israel must withdraw from its aggression and occupation
No discussion on regional stability is credible while Gaza remains under siege.
IRAN AND THE RIGHT TO SOVEREIGN RESPONSE
We affirm:
👉 Iran, as a sovereign state, has the right to respond to aggression within the framework of international law
👉 Any attempt to isolate or pressure Iran without addressing the aggression it faces is unjust and politically motivated
The current narrative seeks to shift focus away from the primary source of instability.
ROOT CAUSE OF ESCALATION
Let it be clearly stated:
👉 The crisis did not begin at Hormuz
👉 The crisis began with prolonged occupation, aggression, and impunity
The expansion of conflict is a direct consequence of:
●Continued Israeli violations in Palestine
●Escalation of military action against Iran
●Failure of the international system to enforce justice
A CALL FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION
We call on:
- The International Community
●End selective pressure and address root causes
●Reject escalation and militarisation - Muslim Nations* Unite in a common *position
●Reject foreign military dominance
●Establish independent security cooperation - Civil Society Worldwide
●Expose double standards
●Advocate for justice and accountability CONCLUSION
The issue is no longer about shipping lanes.
It is about justice.
It is about human dignity.
It is about whether the world will continue to tolerate a system where:
Economic disruption triggers global response
Human suffering is ignored
End the Gaza blockade.
Israel must withdraw.
Stop the aggression.
Restore justice.
