Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM) expresses its deepest alarm at the rapidly escalating military confrontation in West Asia, which is now approaching a dangerous threshold that could trigger a nuclear dimension.
MAPIM warns that any move towards the deployment or use of nuclear warheads by the United States and Israel would constitute a catastrophic escalation, crossing the ultimate red line in modern conflict.
*A DANGEROUS AND IRREVERSIBLE
ESCALATION
The current trajectory of military actions, threats, and retaliatory postures indicates that the region is being pushed toward an unprecedented level of destruction.
The mere preparation for nuclear engagement is already a grave threat to global peace.
If nuclear weapons are used:
●The consequences will be immediate and irreversible
●Civilian populations will suffer mass casualties
●Entire regions could be rendered uninhabitable
●Environmental devastation will affect generations
This will not remain a regional war.
This will become a global catastrophe.
FULL RESPONSIBILITY MUST BE CLEARLY STATED
MAPIM asserts that the United States and Israel will bear full responsibility for any escalation that leads to nuclear confrontation.
There can be no justification:
●Not under the pretext of security
●Not under claims of pre-emptive defense
●Not under geopolitical calculations
The use of nuclear weapons is a crime against humanity.
THE WORLD MUST NOT REMAIN SILENT
MAPIM calls on:
● The United Nations to urgently intervene to prevent escalation
● Nuclear powers to reaffirm commitments against first-use
● The international community to reject any normalization of nuclear threats
● Civil society worldwide to mobilize against this dangerous trajectory
Failure to act now will mean complicity in a disaster of historic proportions.
A FINAL WARNING
Humanity stands at the edge of a precipice.
The decision to cross into nuclear warfare will not only destroy nations.
It will define the moral failure of our time.
MAPIM urges immediate de-escalation and restraint.
The path being taken is reckless and unjustifiable.
The world must act now.
