SOUTHEAST ASIAN MUSLIM SCIENTISTS CONDEMN IN THE STRONGEST TERMS THE ASSASSINATION OF IRANIAN NUCLEAR SCIENTISTS AND ISRAEL’S BARBARIC ATTACKS ON IRAN

We, from MAPIM and the Secretariat of the Regional SEA Muslim Scientist Conference and academicians , strongly and unequivocally condemn the targeted assassination of an Iranian nuclear scientist and the recent barbaric military aggression carried out by the Zionist regime of Israel on the Islamic Republic of Iran.

These heinous acts represent flagrant violations of international law, state sovereignty, and the ethical principles of science, diplomacy, and humanity. The murder of two scientists in the attack is a grave war crime that undermines the very foundation of international stability, peaceful development, and scientific freedom.

We assert the following:

1. The targeted killing of scientists—especially those engaged in peaceful nuclear energy research—constitutes a war crime and a cowardly act of terror by a regime that fears scientific progress in the Muslim world.
2. Israel’s military attacks on Iran are barbaric, illegal, and provocative, intended to destabilize the region and provoke a wider war. This aggression is part of a long-standing pattern of criminal conduct by the Israeli regime, backed by Western imperialist powers.
3. The international scientific community must not remain silent. The assassination of scholars and researchers sets a dangerous precedent that endangers academic freedom, cross-border collaboration, and the sanctity of science as a bridge between nations.
4. We call upon the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), international scientific bodies, and the United Nations to:

●Publicly condemn the assassination and the military aggression by Israel.

●Demand an independent international investigation and prosecution of those responsible.

●Ensure protection for scientists working in high-risk environments and zones of conflict.

●Sanction any state found complicit in or supportive of these crimes.

5. We express our full solidarity with the people of Iran, the Iranian scientific community, and all nations who continue to be targets of Zionist and imperialist hostility.

As scientists and Muslims, we uphold the sanctity of life, the pursuit of knowledge, and the principles of justice and peace. The weaponization of science and the targeting of scientists must be condemned as crimes against humanity.

History will remember this moment — and will not forgive silence in the face of such crimes.
