Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM) expresses grave concern over the escalating confrontation between the United States, Israel, and the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has now entered a dangerous phase marked by coordinated military offensives and retaliatory operations.
MAPIM firmly asserts that this is a war of choice, not necessity.
The deliberate escalation risks destabilizing the entire West Asia region, threatening global energy security, and exposing multiple Muslim nations to direct and indirect consequences.
NEUTRALITY IS NO LONGER TENABLE
MAPIM stresses that neutrality in this context is neither sustainable nor responsible.
The impact of this conflict is already being felt:
●Disruption of regional security
●Threats to vital energy routes
●Economic instability affecting global markets
No nation in the region will remain insulated.
REJECTION OF ESCALATION AND EXTERNAL AGGRESSION
MAPIM calls for an immediate halt to all military actions that risk expanding the conflict.
The principle is clear:
👉 No nation should be subjected to war driven by external strategic objectives.
MAPIM’S 6 CORE DEMANDS
●Immediate cessation of all military escalation involving the United States, Israel, and Iran
●Respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations in the region
●Urgent convening of an emergency OIC summit to formulate a unified response
●Activation of diplomatic channels at the United Nations to prevent further escalation
●Protection of civilian populations and critical infrastructure, particularly energy facilities
●Rejection of sectarian narratives that divide the Muslim Ummah and weaken collective response
A CALL FOR UNITY AND STRATEGIC CLARITY
MAPIM urges Muslim nations to adopt a principled position that:
●Opposes unjust escalation
●Defends regional stability
●Promotes unity beyond sectarian divides
●Silence or passivity will only embolden further escalation.
