OFFICIAL PRESS STATEMENT
ISRAEL BOMBS HUMANITARIAN FLOTILLA SHIP IN INTERNATIONAL WATERS – THE WORLD MUST ACT NOW
The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) expresses its strongest and unequivocal condemnation of the Israeli regime’s bombing of a humanitarian flotilla vessel en route to Gaza, an act that took place in international waters, in flagrant violation of international law, maritime conventions, and basic humanitarian principles.
This is not just an act of war—it is state terrorism. The Israeli regime has once again shown its utter disregard for human life, international law, and moral norms by attacking a civilian humanitarian mission that carried food, medicine, and aid for the besieged people of Gaza.
MAPIM asserts the following:
- The Israeli attack is a war crime and a violation of the freedom of navigation under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
- Humanitarian ships are protected under international humanitarian law. To target them is to target humanity itself.
- This attack must trigger a global emergency response, not just condemnation. Words are not enough when lives are lost and humanitarian efforts are sabotaged.
- The United States and Western powers, by shielding Israel and enabling its actions with weapons and diplomatic impunity, are fully complicit in this crime.
- The UN Security Council, the International Criminal Court (ICC), and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) must immediately launch investigations and hold Israel accountable.
MAPIM demands:
- An immediate international military escort and protection mission for all humanitarian convoys to Gaza and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
- The activation of international emergency protocols to investigate and bring the Israeli leadership to justice.
- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), ASEAN, and non-aligned nations to convene an extraordinary summit to formulate concrete responses, including sanctions and legal actions.
- Muslim nations with military capability must consider the deployment of international peace protection forces to stop Israel’s open violations and crimes.
If the international community fails to act now, it will send a clear message that Israel can commit massacres, blockades, bombings, and piracy with absolute impunity.
We call for global outrage to be translated into decisive action.
Justice demands more than words—it demands immediate intervention.
Stop the Genocide. Break the Siege. Protect the People. Defend Humanity.
