MAPIM STRONGLY CONDEMNS THE EXPULSION OF MSF ON FALSE ALLEGATIONS
Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM) strongly condemns the expulsion of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) from a sovereign territory under the baseless accusation that it constitutes a “military infrastructure” and “shields terrorism.”
This is an unprecedented and dangerous act. Perhaps for the first time in MSF’s history, a globally respected humanitarian medical organization has been expelled on allegations that deliberately mirror the same narrative used by the Israeli occupation to criminalize hospitals, ambulances, doctors, and patients in Gaza.
This language is not accidental. It is part of a wider strategy to demonize humanitarian work, erase civilian protection, and justify mass atrocities.
A Direct Assault on International Humanitarian Law
The targeting and expulsion of humanitarian medical organizations violate:
■The Geneva Conventions, which guarantee protection for medical personnel and facilities
■The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, which criminalizes attacks on humanitarian workers
■The UN Charter, which upholds humanitarian access in conflict zones
By branding lifesaving institutions as “terrorist shields,” this action undermines the very foundations of international humanitarian law and places every aid worker in the world at risk.
Normalising the Genocide Narrative
What is being done to MSF
today reflects the same propaganda used to justify the destruction of Gaza’s healthcare system, where hospitals were declared “military targets” and bombed, and where doctors were detained, tortured, or killed.
This is not security.
This is the normalization of collective punishment.
MAPIM Calls for Immediate Action
MAPIM demands:
●The immediate reversal of the expulsion of MSF
●An independent international investigation into the false allegations
●Protection for all humanitarian workers under international law
●Accountability for any state or authority that criminalizes medical aid
Humanitarian work is not terrorism.
Healing is not a crime.
Silencing doctors will never silence the truth.
