Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM)
Kuala Lumpur | 4th April 2026
Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM) strongly condemns the statement attributed to former US President Donald Trump threatening to bomb Iran “back to the Stone Age.”
This is not political rhetoric. It is an open call for devastation.
Such language reflects a dangerous doctrine that goes beyond military engagement and points toward the deliberate destruction of a nation’s infrastructure, economy, and civilian life. It signals a willingness to cripple an entire society, placing millions of innocent lives at risk.
MAPIM asserts that:
- This is an incitement to collective punishment
Threatening to destroy a country’s basic infrastructure inevitably targets civilians. It violates the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law, including the protection of non combatants and civilian facilities. - This rhetoric normalizes war crimes
To speak of pushing a nation “back to the Stone Age” is to endorse the destruction of hospitals, schools, water systems, and energy networks. This is not defense. This is annihilation. - It endangers global peace and stability
Such threats escalate tensions in an already volatile region. It risks triggering a wider conflict that could engulf multiple nations and destabilize the global order. - It reflects moral bankruptcy in leadership
No responsible leader should advocate for the obliteration of an entire nation. This is a betrayal of humanity and a dangerous abuse of power.
MAPIM calls on:
●The United Nations to take a firm position against any rhetoric or action that promotes total war and collective punishment
●The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to convene an urgent session to address escalating threats against Iran and the region
●The international community to reject and condemn any doctrine that legitimizes mass destruction
We affirm that peace cannot be built on threats of annihilation.
Justice cannot emerge from the ruins of destroyed nations.
The world must stand united against this dangerous escalation and uphold the principles of humanity, dignity, and international law.
“Power must be restrained by justice, or it becomes a force of destruction.”
Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid
President
Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM)
