April 7, 2026PRESS STATEMENT
Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM)
Kuala Lumpur
5hb April 2026
Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM) strongly condemns the escalating rhetoric of the United States leadership, which has now crossed from threats of domination into open insult and dehumanisation.
The statement attributed to US Defense Secretary that “Iran’s fate is in our hands” already reflects a dangerous doctrine of control and arrogance.
Now, this has been compounded by former US President Donald Trump’s explicitly abusive and vulgar language, calling Iran “crazy bastards” while threatening destruction of its infrastructure.
This is not diplomacy.
This is intimidation at its most reckless form.
A Collapse of Moral and Political Responsibility
When global leaders:
●claim control over the destiny of nations
●issue threats to destroy infrastructure
●use degrading and abusive language toward entire populations
…it signals a profound erosion of:
●diplomatic ethics
●international law
●basic human decency
This is arrogance elevated to policy.
From Threat to Dehumanisation
The use of language such as “bastards” is not trivial.
It represents:
●the dehumanisation of a nation
●the normalisation of hostility
●the psychological conditioning for war escalation.
History has repeatedly shown that wars begin with words that strip others of dignity.
Violation of International Norms
Such rhetoric stands in direct violation of:
●the UN Charter
●the principle of sovereign equality
●norms governing responsible state conduct
Threatening to bomb power plants and civilian infrastructure while issuing insults is not leadership.
It is a dangerous precedent.
A Question to the World
Is the world still watching in silence?
Where are:
● the defenders of international law?
● the champions of human rights?
●the voices that claim moral authority?
Silence in the face of such statements is not neutrality.
It is complicity.
MAPIM’S POSITION
MAPIM firmly states:
● No nation has the right to decide the fate of another
● No leader has the moral authority to insult entire populations
● Sovereignty must be respected without exception
Escalatory rhetoric must be rejected globally
CALL TO ACTION
MAPIM calls on:
- The United Nations to respond decisively to this dangerous rhetoric
- The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to convene urgently
- Global civil society to reject the normalization of war language CONCLUSION
When arrogance replaces diplomacy,
conflict becomes inevitable.
When insults replace respect,
peace becomes impossible.
The world must not normalize this descent.
Human dignity is not negotiable.
Sovereignty is not optional.
