MAPIM’s Message on World Humanitarian Day
“ Save Humanity, Stop Genocide”
On this World Humanitarian Day, Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM) raises its voice for the voiceless and oppressed. While this day is meant to honor humanitarian workers and reaffirm our shared duty to protect life, it is overshadowed by the most horrific crime of our time – the genocide in Gaza.
For more than 680 days the people of Gaza have been subjected to relentless bombing, starvation, and a total blockade imposed by the Israeli regime. Thousands of children, women, and elderly have been slaughtered in cold blood. Homes, hospitals, schools, and shelters have been turned into graveyards. This is not war – it is systematic extermination.
Even humanitarian aid workers – the very people risking their lives to save others – have not been spared. Convoys of food and medicine have been deliberately targeted. Doctors, paramedics, UN staff, and international relief workers have been killed in broad daylight. This is an act of utter cruelty and barbarism – a direct assault not just on Palestinians but on the very principle of humanity itself.
MAPIM affirms that Israel’s actions in Gaza constitute nothing less than barbaric genocide – the deliberate annihilation of a besieged people in defiance of international law and every moral code known to mankind. To remain silent in the face of this carnage is to be complicit.
We therefore declare:
- The massacre in Gaza must end immediately. The blockade, the bombing, and the weaponization of starvation are crimes against humanity.
- The international community must act, not just speak. Condemnations are meaningless without decisive measures – sanctions, isolation of the apartheid regime, and accountability before international courts.
- Humanitarian corridors must be protected. Attacking aid convoys and killing humanitarian workers is a war crime that demands global outrage and justice.
- Justice is inseparable from humanitarianism. True humanitarianism cannot ignore the root cause – the illegal occupation and colonial project that fuels endless suffering.
On this World Humanitarian Day, MAPIM salutes the martyrs of humanity – the doctors, aid workers, and volunteers in Gaza who have sacrificed their lives while saving others. Their blood is a testimony that Israel’s cruelty cannot extinguish the spirit of compassion and resistance.
We call upon every government, civil society, and person of conscience to rise and say Enough. Stop the genocide. Save humanity. Restore dignity.
