PRESS RELEASE
23 March 2026
Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM) strongly condemns the escalating aggression led by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran, at a time when the Gaza Strip continues to suffer under a brutal blockade and relentless violations of the ceasefire agreement.
This dangerous escalation reflects a pattern of impunity, where military aggression is expanded beyond Palestine while ongoing atrocities in Gaza remain unaddressed.
MAPIM draws urgent attention to the latest data released by the Government Media Office in Gaza, which exposes the scale of violations committed by the Israeli occupation since the ceasefire came into effect.
SYSTEMATIC VIOLATIONS OF CEASEFIRE AGREEMENT
Since 10 October 2025 until 18 March 2026 (158 days), the Israeli regime has committed:
● 2,073 ceasefire violations, including:
750 shooting incidents
973 shelling and targeting attacks
87 military incursions into civilian areas
263 demolitions of homes and buildings
These actions represent a deliberate and systematic breach of international humanitarian law and the ceasefire agreement.
DEVASTATING HUMAN COST
The consequences of these violations are severe:
● 677 martyrs, of which:
305 are children, women, and elderly
Approximately 99% are civilians
● 1,813 injured, of which:
Over 998 are vulnerable civilians
More than 99% are civilians
● 50 detainees abducted from residential areas
These figures confirm that civilians remain the primary targets of Israeli military actions.
BLOCKADE AND HUMANITARIAN COLLAPSE
Despite the ceasefire agreement, Israel has continued to impose severe restrictions:
● Only 40% of aid and commercial trucks allowed entry (38,358 out of 94,800 expected)
● Only 14% of fuel trucks permitted entry
● Rafah crossing operating at only 35% capacity
Critical humanitarian obligations have been ignored, including:
Denial of medical supplies and equipment
Blocking entry of reconstruction materials
Preventing fuel supply and electricity operations
Restricting shelter materials such as tents and mobile homes
This constitutes a systematic policy of deprivation and starvation imposed on over 2.
million Palestinians.
EID AL-FITR UNDER HUMANITARIAN CATASTROPHE
As Eid approaches, the people of Gaza are unable to celebrate:
●Families lack food, water, and medicine
●Children are deprived of basic necessities
●Millions remain displaced and homeless
Eid, which should be a time of joy and unity, has been turned into a moment of grief, hunger, and survival.
DOUBLE STANDARDS AND EXPANSION OF CONFLICT
MAPIM views the escalation against Iran as deeply irresponsible and dangerous.
At a time when:
●Gaza remains under siege
●Ceasefire violations are ongoing
●Civilians continue to be killed
The expansion of military aggression into another regional front raises serious questions about the real priorities of the United States and its allies.
This reflects a broader strategy of destabilisation rather than peace.
CALL FOR ACCOUNTABILITY AND ACTION
MAPIM calls on:
● The United Nations and international community to act decisively
● Ceasefire guarantors to enforce full compliance
● The United States to halt support for Israeli aggression
● Immediate and unrestricted humanitarian access into Gaza
The continued failure to act will only deepen the humanitarian catastrophe and embolden further violations.
The current situation is not merely a conflict. It is a systematic assault on human dignity, international law, and the basic rights of a besieged population.
The world must not remain silent.
