MAPIM Press Statement
For Immediate Release
8th September 2025
Title: Trump’s Last Warning to Hamas Will Not Deter the Resistance of Palestinian Fighters
The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) strongly condemns the recent “last warning” issued by former U.S. President Donald Trump against Hamas. Such threats reflect the persistent bias of U.S. policy in favor of Israel’s occupation and aggression, while dismissing the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian people for freedom, dignity, and justice.
MAPIM asserts that no ultimatum, whether military or political, will deter the Palestinian resistance. Resistance is not a choice but a necessity, born out of decades of brutal occupation, illegal settlements, and systematic violations of international law. From Gaza to the West Bank, Palestinians continue to face relentless attacks, siege, and dispossession. Their determination to resist stems from the right of self-defense enshrined in the United Nations Charter and international humanitarian law.
Trump’s threats, couched in the language of deterrence, further expose the role of U.S. administrations in enabling Israeli impunity. Instead of addressing the root causes of the conflict—the occupation, apartheid policies, and the denial of Palestinian rights—the U.S. continues to shield Israel and vilify Palestinian resistance movements. This one-sided approach only deepens the cycle of violence and prolongs the suffering of millions of innocent civilians.
MAPIM calls upon the international community to reject the criminalization of Palestinian resistance and to stand firm in support of their right to self-determination. Attempts to silence or intimidate resistance through ultimatums or threats will not succeed; rather, they will strengthen Palestinian resolve and solidarity across the global Ummah.
Peace will only be possible when justice is restored, the occupation ends, and the Palestinian people are guaranteed their rights, including the right to return, to self-determination, and to live freely in their homeland. Until then, resistance will remain an unshakable and legitimate response.
