ARREST NETANYAHU –
WHY THE DOUBLE STANDARD FOR MADURO?
MAPIM POSITION STATEMENT
The Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia MAPIM raises a serious and unavoidable question confronting the international community today:
●Why is there one rule for Nicolás Maduro and another for Benjamin Netanyahu?
●If the world can tolerate or justify the forced arrest and abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro without an international mandate, due process, or judicial authorization, then the world must also answer why Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remains free despite overwhelming evidence of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
■ This is not a legal question alone.
■It is a moral and political indictment of double standards.
SELECTIVE JUSTICE IS NOT JUSTICE
President Maduro was seized through military force, outside his country, without any ruling by an international court.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Netanyahu, whose government has overseen:
the killing of tens of thousands of civilians
the destruction of hospitals, homes, and civilian infrastructure
the starvation and collective punishment of an entire population
continues to enjoy political protection and immunity.
The International Criminal Court has investigated and pursued proceedings related to crimes committed in Gaza. Yet enforcement remains absent, stalled by political shielding and power alliances.
This exposes a brutal reality:
International law is enforced against the weak and suspended for the powerful.
THE CORE QUESTION THE WORLD MUST ANSWER
If Maduro can be arrested, why not Netanyahu?
If abduction is tolerated, why is mass killing excused?
If sovereignty is ignored in Latin America, why is impunity guaranteed in Palestine?
Are international laws meant to protect humanity, or to serve geopolitical interests?
MAPIM’S POSITION
MAPIM states clearly and without ambiguity:
●The forced arrest of President Maduro without international mandate is illegal
●Benjamin Netanyahu must be arrested and prosecuted for war crimes and crimes against humanity
●No political alliance grants immunity from accountability
●Selective justice is a form of injustice
International law must apply equally, or it loses all legitimacy.
CALL TO THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY
MAPIM calls upon the United Nations, regional bodies, and all principled states to:
●Reject double standards in the enforcement of international law
●Demand the arrest and prosecution of Benjamin Netanyahu
●End political protection for war criminals
●Restore credibility to the global justice system
CONCLUSION
The world is being watched.
Not by the powerful, but by the victims.
If justice is enforced in Caracas but denied in Gaza, then it is not justice, it is law dressed as domination.
MAPIM stands with the victims.
MAPIM rejects double standards.
MAPIM demands real justice.
