Press Release
SECOND PHASE OF CEASEFIRE* *ISRAEL, BACKED BY THE UNITED STATES, CONTINUES TO VIOLATE THE AGREEMENT
MAPIM DEMANDS THE IMMEDIATE LIFTING OF THE SIEGE ON GAZA
Kuala Lumpur | 16 January 2026
MAPIM strongly condemns Israel’s systematic violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, carried out with political protection from the United States.
Since the ceasefire came into force on 10 October 2025, 1,244 documented violations have been recorded over 95 days, including gunfire against civilians, military incursions, shelling of residential areas, and destruction of civilian property.
These violations resulted in 449 martyrs, 1,246 injured civilians, and multiple unlawful arrests.
Israel has also deliberately sabotaged the humanitarian protocol.
Only 43 percent of agreed humanitarian aid and 12 percent of fuel supplies were allowed into Gaza, paralysing hospitals, water systems, bakeries, and essential services. This constitutes engineered starvation and collective punishment.
The continued blockade on shelter materials has caused deaths from exposure and building collapses during winter conditions, leaving over 1.5 million displaced people without adequate protection.
MAPIM warns that a ceasefire without enforcement and accountability has become a licence for continued crimes.
MAPIM calls on
- Donald Trump
- the sponsors and guarantors of the agreement
- the international community
- the United Nations
to immediately compel Israel to fully implement the ceasefire, ensure unrestricted humanitarian access, and break the siege on Gaza now.
A ceasefire that allows starvation and civilian deaths is not peace.
It is impunity.
Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid
President MAPIM
