PRESS RELEASE
Kuala Lumpur 13 March 2026
In conjunction with the observance of Al Quds Day, Malaysians , irrespective of Religions , creed and race , are called upon to unite in solidarity with the Palestinian people, to defend the sanctity of Al Aqsa Mosque, and to raise a firm voice against aggression and violations of the sovereignty of nations.
Al Quds Day represents a global moral awakening. It reminds humanity that the question of Palestine is not merely a political issue but a matter of justice, dignity, and the protection of sacred heritage. It is a day when people of conscience across the world reaffirm their commitment to the liberation of Al Quds and the protection of the Palestinian people from oppression.
Recent developments in the Middle East have intensified concerns over regional stability. On 28 February 2026, coordinated military strikes by Israel and the United States targeted multiple sites in Iran, escalating tensions across the region and triggering retaliatory attacks and a widening conflict.
This dangerous escalation threatens international peace and risks expanding the conflict beyond regional boundaries. The crisis has already resulted in missile and drone exchanges, attacks on military installations and infrastructure across several countries, and rising fears of broader instability in the Middle East.
Malaysia, as a nation committed to justice, international law, and peaceful coexistence among nations, must stand firm in defending fundamental principles of sovereignty and humanitarian values.
We therefore declare the following:
- Defend the Sanctity of Al Aqsa Mosque
The Al Aqsa Mosque remains one of the most sacred sites in Islam and a symbol of spiritual and historical heritage for Muslims worldwide. Any threat to its sanctity or attempts to undermine the rights of Palestinians in Al Quds must be firmly rejected. - Reject Aggression Against the Sovereignty of Nations
The use of military force that undermines the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries represents a dangerous precedent that destabilizes global peace. All acts of aggression that violate international law must be condemned. - Stop the Escalation of War Against Iran
Escalating military confrontation risks plunging the region into wider conflict with grave consequences for civilian populations, regional stability, and global security. - Uphold Justice and International Law
The international community must reaffirm the principles of justice, accountability, and respect for sovereignty. Peace can only be achieved through adherence to international law and meaningful diplomatic engagement. - Strengthen Global Solidarity with Palestine
The suffering of the Palestinian people must not be forgotten. Their right to dignity, freedom, and self determination remains a moral responsibility for the global community. A Call to the Malaysian People
Al Quds Day is a moment of awakening for Malaysians of all backgrounds. It is an opportunity to reaffirm our collective commitment to justice, peace, and humanitarian solidarity.
We call upon Malaysians to:
● stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people
● defend the sanctity of Al Aqsa Mosque
●reject aggression and war that threaten regional and global peace
●support humanitarian efforts for those affected by conflict
Malaysia has long been a voice for justice and peace in international affairs. In this moment of global uncertainty, the Malaysian people must once again rise with moral clarity and compassion.
Human dignity must prevail over aggression.
Justice must prevail over power.
Humanity must stand for humanity.
