STOP CRUSHING OF IKHWAN BY EGYPT MILITARY REGIME

We express our deep concern on the persistent brutal action of the Egypt military regime against the Ikhwan Muslimin (Muslim Brotherhood) movement.

Egyptian court recently has sentenced the deputy supreme guide of the now banned Muslim Brotherhood, Mahmoud Ezzat, to life imprisonment.

The Minya Criminal Court also sentenced seven other members of the political group to life imprisonment in absentia and eight others to five years in jail.

The military seems to launch a sweeping operation to locate Ikhwan members under the pretext of forming a terrorist cell aimed at overthrowing the government and sabotaging the economy.

We call for the Egypt government to stop its violation of human rights in its unprecedented crackdown on opposition groups since the military coup that ousted the country’s first democratically elected President Mohamed Morsi in 2013.

Since the arrest of Morsi and many of the group’s senior leaders, and the group was subsequently outlawed, ikhwan has suffered tremendous suppression. Brutal torture and murder in custody targetting Ikhwan members are rampant under the regime.

Thousands of Ikhwan supporters have since been killed and many more have been jailed with no recourse to legal representation.

We demand that the Egypt regime stop the oppression and victimising the Ikhwan as crushing the movement will not weaken their spirit to struggle for justice.

The Egyptian regime cannot allow itself to become tools of the western powers and the zionist agenda of wiping the region from Islamic movements.

They are very disciplined cadres that have dedicated themselves to the cause of Islam.

The military coup that brought down the democratic elected President Mohamad Morsi in which he died in custody had strengthen their resolve to continue their struggle.

We register our support for justice and protection of the rights of the ikhwan members.
