We are outraged by persistent harassment by the Indian Occupation forces against the family members of the Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
We demand this action to stop immediately.
It is clear now that the repressive act against the deceased Syed Ali Shah Geelani has not stopped. By denying the family the right to bury Syed Ali Shah Geelani the Indian Occupation Forces is continuing to oppress the family members with fake charges.
There seem to be a concerted effort to erase the legacy of Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s struggle by focussing on his family members.
The ill-treatment of Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s family is another scheme to dampen the spirit of Kashmiris in their struggle to demand for the right to self determination.
We reiterate our solidarity with the Kashmir cause and hope the inspirational mission of the late Syed Ali Shah Geelani will persevere amongst all Kashmiris.
We call for the International community to intervene. The violation of human rights and the denial of political rights to determine Kashmiris’s own fate must be respected.
The world community cannot remain silent and inaction against the inhuman, unjust and illegal actions of the Indian Occupation Forces.
The sufferings of the people in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) cannot be allowed to persist.
The world community must upheld the right for Kashmiris to decide their own future and the atrocities by the Indian Occupation Forces must be brought to justice and those responsible be made accountable for the years of brutality in IIOK.
