Press Release
10th February 2025
As efforts to rebuild Gaza gain international attention, it is imperative that reconstruction efforts are not merely focused on physical rebuilding but also on justice, accountability, and reparations from those responsible for the destruction.
The United States and Israel, as key actors in the devastation of Gaza, must be held accountable for their actions and provide full compensation for the immense loss of life, infrastructure, and livelihoods.
The destruction in Gaza, caused by relentless Israeli bombardment with direct U.S. military and financial backing, has resulted in the deaths of thousands of civilians, the obliteration of essential infrastructure, and a humanitarian catastrophe of unprecedented scale. Independent human rights organizations, legal experts, and international bodies have raised serious concerns about war crimes and acts amounting to genocide.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has already acknowledged the plausibility of genocidal acts, and ongoing legal proceedings must ensure that those responsible—both political and military leaders—are held accountable. The international community must demand:
1.Full Compensation and Reparations:* Israel and its enablers, including the U.S. government, must finance Gaza’s reconstruction as part of their obligation for the destruction they have caused.
2.War Crimes Investigations and Accountability: The International Criminal Court (ICC) and other legal bodies must continue their investigations into war crimes and ensure justice for victims.
3.End to Military and Financial Support for Israeli Aggression:* The U.S. must immediately cease military aid and diplomatic cover for Israel’s actions that violate international law.
4.Lifting of the Siege on Gaza:* Any reconstruction efforts must be coupled with the complete removal of Israel’s blockade, which has strangled Gaza’s economy and denied its people basic rights.
Rebuilding Gaza is not just about reconstruction—it is about justice. Any attempt to whitewash Israel’s crimes or absolve the U.S. of its role in the atrocities committed against the Palestinian people must be firmly rejected.
True justice requires that the perpetrators of genocide and war crimes pay for the destruction they have caused, both legally and financially.
The international community must stand with the Palestinian people in their demand for accountability, reparations, and an end to the cycle of impunity that has allowed Israel and its allies to commit atrocities without consequence.
