OFFICIAL MEDIA STATEMENT
24 April 2025
TO DEFEND AL-AQSA AND LIBERATE PALESTINE
“From every pulpit, the call of Al-Aqsa shall resound.”
With full awareness and a spirit of resistance, MANAR – the World Mosque Alliance to Defend Al-Aqsa, Malaysia Secretariat, officially announces the launch of a national movement to mobilize more than 6,800 mosques across the country in a sacred mission: to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque and liberate Palestine from Zionist occupation.
Al-Aqsa Mosque – the first qiblah of Muslims and the third holiest sanctuary after Makkah and Madinah – continues to be desecrated through invasions, violations, and systematic de-Islamization efforts by the Zionist regime. In Gaza, a full-scale genocide is underway, with thousands martyred and millions oppressed.
Mosques worldwide can no longer remain silent. We must rise as the voice of divine truth and the fortress of the ummah.
As part of an effort to unify Muslim strength through the institution of the mosque, the Malaysia Secretariat of MANAR is officially launched today, with the flagship campaign “Mobilizing 6,800 Mosques for Al-Aqsa.”
This strategic initiative aims to activate 6,800 mosques across Malaysia in the struggle for the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the land of Palestine from Zionist control. It is also the first step toward building a regional and global network of mosques across ASEAN and internationally, strengthening the solidarity and mobilization of the global ummah.
MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE CAMPAIGN :
- To mobilize mosques as centers of awareness and resistance in defending Al-Aqsa and liberating Palestine.
- To unify the strength of mosque networks nationally, regionally, and globally to form a powerful front of Muslim solidarity.
- To launch various campaigns and programs of advocacy, education, and humanitarian aid focused on the issues of Al-Aqsa and Palestine. CAMPAIGNS AND PROGRAMS TO BE LAUNCHED:
- Khutbahs and talks themed around Al-Aqsa, delivered simultaneously across the nation on designated dates.
- Prayer campaigns featuring Qunut Nazilah and Al-Aqsa supplications in mosques and suraus.
- Public education through forums, seminars, exhibitions, and awareness campaigns on Al-Aqsa.
- Training programs for mosque activists and young imams to become grassroots spokesmen for the Palestinian cause.
- Solidarity fundraising via digital platforms and mosque donation boxes.
- World Mosque Solidarity Day for Al-Aqsa – an annual campaign with international mosque networks. THE ROLE OF MOSQUES AS FORTRESSES OF THE UMMAH
MANAR believes that the mosque is not just a house of worship, but a center of leadership and revival. Historically, mosques have always been bases of resistance, education, and solidarity in Islamic movements. Therefore, this campaign emphasizes empowering the mosque as a center for people’s movements, built on trust, inclusivity, and divine guidance.
As a long-term strategic step, the Malaysia Secretariat also proposes the formation of a World & ASEAN Mosque Network for Al-Aqsa, including mosques from Indonesia, Southern Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, Brunei, and partners from the Arab world, Turkey, Africa, and Europe. This network will serve as a platform for program coordination, resource exchange, and a united voice on ummah and human rights issues.
WITH THIS LAUNCH, MANAR MALAYSIA CALLS :
All imams, mosque committees, Islamic NGOs, and the Muslim public to rise and answer this sacred call.
The defense of Al-Aqsa is a collective duty.
The ummah’s victory begins with an awakened and united pulpit.
