Press Statement:
Israel’s Genocidal Acts in Gaza Cross All Red Lines of Humanity
Date: June 15, 2025
The Malaysian Consultative Council if Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) unequivocally condemns the ongoing atrocities committed by Israel in the occupied Gaza Strip, which have crossed every red line of international humanitarian law and constitute acts of genocide against the Palestinian people.
The latest massacre on June 14, 2025, where Israeli forces killed at least 79 Palestinians, including 15 near a U.S.- and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid distribution site, is a stark manifestation of Israel’s deliberate targeting of civilians and weaponization of humanitarian aid.Israel’s 15-week blockade, imposed on March 2, 2025, has plunged Gaza into a humanitarian catastrophe, with famine looming as food, water, and medical supplies are systematically denied.
The Gaza Ministry of Health reports that 274 people have been killed and over 2,000 wounded near aid sites since GHF operations began, turning these so-called “humanitarian hubs” into “execution sites” for desperate Palestinians seeking survival.
Such actions, coupled with the destruction of 69% of Gaza’s infrastructure and the displacement of 665,000 people since February 2025, align with the Genocide Convention’s definition of inflicting conditions of life calculated to destroy a group in whole or in part.
We denounce the complicity of the United States in enabling Israel’s genocidal campaign through its support for the GHF, a flawed and militarized aid system that violates principles of neutrality and impartiality, as criticized by the United Nations. The U.S.’s defensive support for Israel, including intercepting Iranian missiles, risks further entangling it in a broader regional conflict, exacerbating the suffering in Gaza and beyond.
MAPIM stands in solidarity with UN experts, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch, who have documented Israel’s deliberate starvation policies, attacks on civilian infrastructure, and sexual violence as genocidal acts.
The escalation of Israel’s war, including its recent strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, threatens to destabilize the region further, diverting attention from the Palestinian plight and risking a prolonged conflict that could draw in global powers.
MAPIM calls for:
- An immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, as demanded by the UN Security Council and International Court of Justice (ICJ).
- The lifting of Israel’s illegal blockade to allow unimpeded humanitarian aid access, in line with ICJ provisional measures.
- Accountability for Israeli war crimes and genocidal acts, including compliance with International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrants for Israeli leaders.
- An end to U.S. and Western complicity in Israel’s actions, including halting arms transfers and political support.Global solidarity actions, such as the Global March to Gaza, to pressure world leaders to stop Israel’s genocidal war.
The Palestinian people’s resilience in the face of this “live-streamed genocide” is a testament to their unyielding pursuit of justice and self-determination.
MAPIM urges the international community, particularly Malaysia, to intensify efforts to hold Israel accountable and support the Palestinian cause.
We call on all people of conscience to join us in condemning these atrocities and advocating for an end to the occupation and apartheid in Palestine.
Standing for Justice, Opposing Imperialism, Supporting Palestine
Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid
President MAPIM
