MALAYSIA MUST NOT BE INVOLVED IN TRUMP’S “BOARD OF PEACE
”
MAPIM Statement
Kuala Lumpur

Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM) strongly urges the Government of Malaysia to reject any form of participation, endorsement, or legitimacy to the so-called “Board of Peace” initiative proposed under the leadership of Donald Trump.

This proposal is not a peace mechanism. It is a political instrument of control, designed to whitewash war crimes, reshape regional realities through coercion, and entrench the dominance of hegemonic powers under the false language of diplomacy.

Malaysia must not be used to decorate an agenda that has no moral authority, no legal foundation, and no sincerity toward justice.

1. A False Peace Built on Blood and Occupation

Donald Trump’s political legacy is inseparable from:

• The recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel
• The Abraham Accords which normalized occupation
• Unconditional military and political backing of Israeli war crimes
• Open contempt for international law and multilateral institutions

Any “peace board” emerging from this legacy is structurally incapable of justice.

It does not seek reconciliation. It seeks submission.

2. A Strategic Trap for the Global South

The “Board of Peace” is a geopolitical mechanism to:

• Legitimize illegal occupations
• Neutralize resistance movements
• Marginalize international legal frameworks
• Weaken the United Nations system
• Reframe war as “security management”

This is not conflict resolution.

This is imperial restructuring under a new name.

Malaysia, as a nation of dignity and historical conscience, must not become a symbolic endorsement for neo-colonial agendas.

3. Palestine Is the Moral Test of Any Peace Process

There can be no peace while:

• Gaza remains under siege
• The West Bank is colonized
• Refugees are denied their right of return
• Al-Aqsa is desecrated
• War crimes go unpunished

Any initiative that refuses to confront Israeli occupation, apartheid, and genocide is not peace, it is complicity.

4. Malaysia’s Role Is to Defend Justice, Not Power
   Malaysia’s foreign policy tradition stands for:

• Sovereignty of nations
• Justice for the oppressed
• International law
• Peace through accountability
• Solidarity with the Palestinian people

To join Trump’s “Board of Peace” would betray this legacy and weaken

Malaysia’s moral standing in the Muslim world and among Global South nations.

5. MAPIM’s Call

MAPIM calls upon:

●The Prime Minister of Malaysia
●The Ministry of Foreign Affairs
●Members of Parliament
Malaysian civil society

To publicly reject any involvement with Trump’s “Board of Peace” and to reaffirm Malaysia’s commitment to a just, lawful, and people-centered peace process.

Peace cannot be authored by architects of war.

Justice cannot be issued by those who deny humanity.

Malaysia must stand on the right side of history.
Justice is not negotiated.
Freedom is not postponed.
Oppression is not normalized.
