MAPIM strongly condemns the joint military attacks launched by the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which represent a dangerous escalation that threatens regional peace, global stability, and international law.
Reports confirm that the United States and Israel have begun major combat operations targeting Iranian territory, with explosions reported in multiple cities including Tehran and other strategic locations.
The strikes mark a significant escalation of tensions and have already triggered retaliatory military responses, raising fears of a wider regional conflict.

MAPIM stresses that military aggression against a sovereign state without clear international legal authorization constitutes a serious violation of the principles of the United Nations Charter, particularly the prohibition on the use of force except in self defense or with Security Council approval.
The justification based on alleged nuclear threats cannot legitimize unilateral military action.
International disputes regarding nuclear programs must be resolved through diplomatic engagement and international monitoring mechanisms, not through warfare that risks catastrophic humanitarian consequences.
The consequences of this escalation extend far beyond Iran. The Middle East region sits at the center of global energy supply routes and geopolitical security.
Conflict involving Iran risks disrupting maritime trade corridors, destabilizing neighboring countries, and triggering economic shocks worldwide.
The closure of airspace across several countries and emergency measures in the region already demonstrate the seriousness of the crisis.

MAPIM also warns that such aggression may ignite a broader confrontation involving multiple regional and global actors, increasing the risk of prolonged conflict with unpredictable consequences for international peace and security.
The United Nations must not remain passive.
MAPIM calls upon the United Nations to immediately:
●Convene an emergency session of the UN Security Council
●Activate diplomatic and conflict prevention mechanisms under the UN Charter
●Demand immediate cessation of hostilities by all parties
●Deploy international mediation efforts to prevent further escalation
●Uphold international law and protect civilian populations from the consequences of war
Failure to act decisively risks undermining the credibility of the international system and normalizing unilateral military aggression as an acceptable instrument of policy.
MAPIM further emphasizes that global stability cannot be maintained through military dominance or coercive geopolitics. Sustainable peace requires diplomacy, respect for sovereignty, and adherence to international law.
The world has already witnessed the devastating consequences of prolonged conflicts in West Asia. Another major war would deepen humanitarian suffering, destabilize economies, and endanger millions of lives.
MAPIM urges the international community to act urgently to prevent further escalation and protect global peace.
War must not replace diplomacy. Aggression must not replace international law.
