“ MODI’S VISIT TO MALAYSIA : PMX MUST ENSURE HINDUTVA IDEOLOGY FINDS NO PLACE ON MALAYSIAN SOIL”

Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM) takes serious note of the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Malaysia.

MAPIM stresses that diplomatic engagement must never come at the cost of Malaysia’s constitutional values, social harmony, and commitment to justice.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not merely a political leader. He is the central figure of a political ecosystem rooted in the Hindutva ideology, which has institutionalised discrimination, normalised hate speech, and emboldened violence against religious minorities in India, particularly Muslims.

The ideology of Hindutva is not a spiritual doctrine. It is a political project of supremacy that seeks to redefine citizenship through religious identity and marginalise those who do not conform.

MAPIM is deeply concerned that such an ideology, if allowed to spread through diaspora networks, cultural fronts, digital propaganda, and political symbolism, will poison Malaysia’s multi religious harmony.

Malaysia must remain firm:
There is no room for imported extremism, whether it comes in the name of religion, race, or nationalism.

We therefore urge the Prime Minister of Malaysia (PMX) and the Government to:

●Publicly reaffirm Malaysia’s rejection of all supremacist and exclusionary ideologies, including Hindutva.

●Ensure that no political, cultural, or organisational platforms in Malaysia are used to promote hate based ideologies.

●Strengthen monitoring of transnational extremist narratives that threaten social cohesion.

●Maintain a principled foreign policy that upholds human rights and minority protection.

●Engage diplomatically without compromising Malaysia’s moral position.

● Diplomacy must be guided by values, not silence.

MAPIM believes that Malaysia’s strength lies in its diversity, mutual respect, and constitutional justice. No foreign ideology that promotes hatred and division should be allowed to take root in our society.

This is not about India.
This is about Malaysia’s moral and social security.

We call upon PMX to stand firm in defence of harmony, justice, and national unity.
