WHAT IS THE UNITED NATIONS DOING?
CHILDREN IN CHAINS, THE WORLD IN SILENCE
Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM) and My Child International express deep outrage and condemnation over the continued mass arrest and detention of Palestinian children by the Israeli occupation regime.
Every year, at least 700 Palestinian children are arrested by Israeli forces.
Today, more than 350 Palestinian children remain imprisoned, many without charge or trial, subjected to psychological abuse, physical mistreatment, and denial of basic rights.
These are children.
Not combatants.
Not criminals.
But victims of an apartheid system that criminalizes childhood itself.
A Blatant Violation of International Law
The arrest and detention of children violate:
●The Convention on the Rights of the Child
●The Fourth Geneva Convention
●The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights
Yet the United Nations, mandated to protect children and uphold international law, continues to issue statements while allowing crimes to persist without consequence.
Where Is the Accountability?
How many more children must be taken from their beds at night?
How many more must be interrogated without lawyers or parents?
How many more must grow up behind iron bars before the world acts?
Silence is not neutrality.
It is complicity.
We Demand
●Immediate release of all Palestinian children detainees
●Independent UN investigation into child detention practices
●Sanctions and legal accountability for violations of child rights
●International protection mechanisms for Palestinian children
The world cannot claim moral leadership while allowing children to be jailed under military law.
Justice delayed is justice denied.
Freedom for Palestine begins with freedom for its children.
