Press Release

ABU HAWASH MUST BE RELEASED

We express our deep concern on the health condition of Abu Hawash.

Hisham Abu Hawash ‘s more than 141-hunger-striking Palestinian detainee in the Israeli jails, has only one solution , that is , he should be released immediately.

We condemn the Israel’s inhuman treatment to all the Palestinian detainees.

Abu Hawash’s extended hunger strike, is a strong message to the world community that unless the prisoners of conscience in the Israel jails are released , the situation of the Palestinians will worsened.

The use of administrative detention without formal charge , has been executed by Israel to crush the will of the detained Palestinians to fight for their rights.

Not charging the detainees indefinitely and denying their rights is an injustice that must be condemend.

41-year-old Hisham Abu Hawash from Dora in occupied Hebron, was arrested on October 27, 2020, and held under administrative detention.

He has been on hunger strike since August 17, 2021 in protest against his administrative detention without a charge or trial by Israeli occupation authorities.

According to Palestinian prisoner advocacy groups. his health condition has been deteriorating severely and he is now at a high risk of sudden death.

The bad treatment to prisoners by the israeli authorities and preventing visits is cruel and inhuman.

The israeli occupation authorities has been using court orders to stop
administrative detention at the brink of death only to force the strikers to forcefully end their hunger strikes.

We demand for the end of illegal administrative detentions by the israel occupation forces.

There are now 4600 Palestinians held in Israeli occupation jails, including 34 women, 160 minors, and 500 administrative detainees held without charge or trial.

This is a clear violation of human rights.

We call for the international agencies to look into the cases of illegal detention of Palestinians in the israeli jails.
