The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) strongly condemns the reckless and inhumane positions taken by U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding Gaza. Their actions and statements demonstrate a clear intent to perpetuate war, suffering, and illegal annexation rather than working towards a just and lasting peace.
Trump’s recent remarks, threatening to cancel a ceasefire unless Hamas releases all hostages, expose his disregard for Palestinian lives and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. His suggestion to forcibly displace the Palestinian population into neighboring countries amounts to ethnic cleansing—an unacceptable and illegal proposal that violates international law and basic human rights.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu’s continued military aggression and expansionist policies reveal his long-term plan to annex Gaza, furthering Israel’s occupation and dispossession of the Palestinian people. The relentless bombardment, blockade, and destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure demonstrate a systematic effort to erase Palestinian identity and sovereignty.
MAPIM firmly asserts that:
- The forced displacement of Palestinians is a war crime and must be unequivocally rejected by the international community.
- The ongoing military aggression against Gaza constitutes genocide, and those responsible must be held accountable in the International Criminal Court (ICC).
- The global community, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the United Nations, and ASEAN, must take urgent action to stop Israel’s war crimes and prevent further atrocities.
- Malaysia must continue its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and intensify diplomatic efforts to hold Israel and its allies accountable.
MAPIM urges all peace-loving nations, humanitarian organizations, and civil society movements to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people against these blatant acts of aggression and annexation. The world must not allow another Nakba to take place in our time.
We reaffirm our commitment to advocating for the rights of the Palestinian people and call for an immediate end to the war, the lifting of the blockade on Gaza, and the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.
