The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) and its partner organizations urge King Abdullah of Jordan to stand firmly with Gaza and Palestine and reject any endorsement of Trump’s authority over Gaza. Any move that legitimizes foreign control over Palestinian land would be seen as a betrayal of the Palestinian cause and a dangerous step toward the further occupation of Palestine.
Trump’s imperialist agenda to take over Gaza and treat it as a real estate deal serves only the interests of Zionist expansionism and occupation. No Arab or Muslim leader should give credibility to such a plan, which would further the suffering of the Palestinian people and undermine their right to self-determination.
OUR MESSAGE TO KING ABDULLAH
- Palestine is not a bargaining chip. Gaza and the West Bank belong to the Palestinian people, and no foreign power has the right to dictate their fate.
- Jordan must uphold its historical and moral responsibility. As custodian of Islamic holy sites in Al-Quds (Jerusalem), Jordan has a duty to protect Palestinian rights, not enable Zionist expansion.
- Trump’s plan is a direct attack on Palestinian sovereignty. Any support for this agenda means backing ethnic cleansing, forced displacement, and apartheid policies.
- Arab and Muslim unity is crucial. Jordan must work with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Arab League, and global justice movements to reject Trump’s dangerous ambitions in Gaza.
- Gaza’s resistance must be respected, not undermined. The people of Gaza have endured occupation, blockade, and war—any leader siding with oppressors rather than the oppressed is complicit in their suffering.
CALL TO ACTION
We urge:
● King Abdullah and the Jordanian leadership to publicly reaffirm their commitment to Palestinian sovereignty and reject any negotiations that involve U.S. or Israeli control over Gaza.
● The Arab and Muslim world to stand united against any move that legitimizes Zionist occupation.
● Palestinian leadership to resist all external pressures and reaffirm their right to self-determination.
● The global Muslim community to mobilize in defense of Gaza and Palestine.
The fate of Gaza must not be decided by foreign powers, nor compromised by political calculations. The world is watching, and history will judge those who stand with the oppressed and those who enable the oppressor.
We call on King Abdullah to take the right stand—stand with Gaza, stand with Palestine, and reject Trump’s takeover agenda.
