The ongoing atrocities committed by Israel against the people of Gaza are a blatant violation of International Humanitarian Law (IHL). Despite global condemnation, Israel continues to besiege Gaza, cut off humanitarian aid, and enforce a total blockade, including on fuel, food, and medical supplies.
The humanitarian situation is worsening by the hour, with catastrophic consequences for over 2.3 million Palestinians trapped in the enclave.
GAZA UPDATE
For the fifth consecutive day, Israel’s deliberate blockade has:
Prevented the entry of all forms of humanitarian aid, including fuel, food, and medical supplies.
Caused extreme shortages of essential goods, with skyrocketing prices making survival nearly impossible.
Created a humanitarian catastrophe, where people are deprived of their basic human rights.
The lack of fuel alone has devastating effects:
- Hospitals and health centers have completely shut down, endangering the lives of thousands of patients and wounded civilians.
- Oxygen stations and kidney dialysis units have stopped, leaving critically ill patients at risk of death.
- Operating rooms and intensive care units are non-functional, preventing life-saving surgeries.
- Desalination plants have ceased operations, cutting off all access to potable water.
- Water wells are no longer operational, meaning no water is available for daily use.
- Municipal services, including waste collection and sanitation, have collapsed, increasing the risk of disease outbreaks.
- Transport for relief efforts has come to a complete halt, preventing aid from reaching those in need.
- Ambulance and civil defense vehicles are immobilized, further endangering civilian lives.
- Sewage treatment plants have stopped working, threatening urban areas with sewage overflows and deadly contamination. MAPIM DEMANDS IMMEDIATE ACTION
The international community, including the United Nations, OIC, and all humanitarian organizations, must act now to:
- End the Illegal Siege of Gaza – Immediate pressure must be placed on Israel to lift the blockade and allow the entry of humanitarian aid.
- Restore Essential Services – Fuel, medical supplies, food, and water must be delivered immediately to prevent mass suffering and death.
- Hold Israel Accountable for War Crimes – Systematic violations of International Humanitarian Law and the Geneva Conventions must not be ignored.
- Protect Civilians – The world must demand an immediate ceasefire and the protection of innocent Palestinians. NO MORE IMPUNITY FOR ISRAEL!
The silence and inaction of world powers are unacceptable. The genocide unfolding in Gaza must be stopped immediately. MAPIM calls upon all nations, human rights organizations, and global leaders to break the silence and take firm action against Israel’s war crimes.
