MALAYSIA’S PRESENTATION AT ICJ – AN EMBODIMENT OF SOLID ARGUMENT TO COMPEL ICJ TO CONCLUDE FOR ENFORCEMENT OF INTERNATIONAL LAW ON ISRAEL –
MAPIM FULLY SUPPORTS THE PRESENTATION
The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) expresses its full support for the presentation delivered by Malaysia at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding the legal consequences of Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories. The presentation represents a principled, well-researched, and courageous stand that upholds the sanctity of international law and the moral conscience of humanity.
Malaysia’s submission underscores the prolonged and illegal occupation of Palestine, apartheid policies enforced by the Israeli regime, and systematic violations of human rights and international humanitarian law. The presentation is a timely and essential intervention that calls upon the ICJ to issue a strong advisory opinion affirming Israel’s international responsibility and the obligations of all states to cease recognition and support of its unlawful acts.
MAPIM believes that this initiative must be a catalyst to move beyond symbolic condemnation. It should lead to:
- Concrete enforcement mechanisms through the UN and international legal bodies.
- Global diplomatic pressure on states that continue to shield Israel from accountability.
- A call for sanctions and international isolation of Israel until it ends its occupation and complies with international law.
MAPIM urges all OIC members and nations that respect international justice to take similar steps and to support Malaysia’s position at the ICJ. This is not merely a legal matter – it is a moral imperative for humanity to stand against oppression and uphold the rule of law.
Justice for Palestine is justice for all.
Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid
President, MAPIM
