Press Release
6 th May 2025
130 DAYS: DR. HUSSAM ABU SAFIYAH STILL IN CAPTIVITY OF ISRAELI OCCUPATION FORCES – THE WORLD REMAINS SILENT
It has been 130 days since Dr. Hussam Abu Safiyah, a prominent pediatrician and hospital director in northern Gaza, was abducted by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF). A man devoted to healing children amidst war, now unjustly detained – without charge, trial, or access to his family.
While the world watches in silence, Israel continues its war crimes with impunity, targeting medical professionals, destroying hospitals, and violating international humanitarian law.
Where is the outrage? Where is justice? Where is humanity?
We call on:
- All humanitarian organizations to demand his immediate release.
- Governments and the UN to hold Israel accountable for the targeting of health workers.
- The global civil society to raise their voices – because silence is complicity.
Free Dr. Hussam Abu Safiyah. Protect healthcare in Gaza. Stop the genocide.
Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid
President MAPIM
