MAPIM: WHAT BARBARISM IS THIS? 14 ATTACKS ON AL-AQSA MARTYRS HOSPITAL – A SYSTEMATIC WAR CRIME
Shah Alam, Malaysia – 1 September 2025
Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM) expresses its outrage and strongest condemnation of the relentless Israeli occupation attacks on Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza – struck for the 14th time since January 2024.
The most recent assault, targeting a tent sheltering displaced civilians inside the hospital compound, has left patients and medical staff in grave danger, caused injuries, and inflicted further material destruction. This pattern of repeated aggression against the same hospital reveals a systematic and deliberate policy to dismantle Gaza’s health infrastructure – a clear violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions, which explicitly protect medical facilities, civilians, and healthcare workers.
MAPIM’s stand:
- We declare these attacks barbaric war crimes that form part of an ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people.
- We hold the Israeli regime, the U.S. administration, and all complicit states fully responsible for enabling and covering these systematic crimes.
- We demand the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and the International Criminal Court immediately act to:
Halt these atrocities,
Provide international protection for hospitals and medical staff in Gaza, and
Prosecute Israel for crimes against humanity.
- We call on Muslim governments, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and global civil society to take urgent collective measures beyond condemnation – including sanctions, isolation of Israel from the international system, and intensified humanitarian support to Gaza.
For hospitals – sacred sanctuaries of healing – to be bombed repeatedly, is nothing less than an affront to all humanity. If the world remains silent, it becomes complicit.
MAPIM stands unwavering in solidarity with Gaza and renews its pledge to mobilise international humanitarian, legal, and moral pressure until justice prevails.
