BOARD OF PEACE IS BOARD OF OCCUPATION – GAZA CANNOT BE SEPARATED FROM PALESTINE, REJECT TRUMP’S PEACE PLAN
Shah Alam, Malaysia – 4th October 2025
The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) strongly condemns the so-called “20-Point Gaza Peace Proposal” announced by U.S. President Donald Trump. Far from being a genuine peace initiative, the plan is a blatant attempt to legitimize the Israeli occupation, fragment the Palestinian cause, and entrench Zionist control over the land of Palestine.
Trump’s plan, under the guise of reconstruction and stability, seeks to separate Gaza from the rest of Palestine and reduce it to a humanitarian project detached from the central question of illegal occupation, ethnic cleansing, and denial of Palestinian sovereignty. Such a proposal undermines the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and directly contradicts international law, numerous UN resolutions, and the global consensus on a just resolution to the Palestinian struggle.
MAPIM stresses the following:
- Gaza is Palestine – It cannot be isolated or treated as a separate entity. Any attempt to carve out Gaza from the Palestinian national struggle is an assault on Palestinian unity.
- Occupation is the root cause – No amount of aid or reconstruction plans can bring peace while Israel continues to occupy Palestinian land, expand illegal settlements, and impose an apartheid regime.
- Trump’s proposal is a board of occupation, not peace – It shifts the focus from Israel’s crimes to mere humanitarian relief, thereby absolving the occupier and punishing the occupied.
- The international community must reject this deception – Genuine peace requires ending the occupation, dismantling settlements, lifting the siege on Gaza, and restoring the full rights of the Palestinian people, including the right of return and recognition of Jerusalem (Al-Quds) as the capital of Palestine.
MAPIM calls on all governments, civil society, and the global Ummah to reject Trump’s plan in totality, to intensify solidarity with Palestine, and to demand immediate accountability for Israel’s war crimes.
Peace cannot be built on oppression. Justice for Palestine is the only foundation for lasting peace.
