Commendation of Hamas’ Wise and Responsible Response to Trump’s Gaza Proposal

The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) commends the wise, responsible, and strategically mature response of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) to the so-called Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict.
Hamas’s statement, issued on 3 October 2025, reflects a clear commitment to the protection of the Palestinian people, adherence to national principles, and readiness to pursue peace based on justice and sovereignty—not surrender or subjugation.
MAPIM recognizes that Hamas’s decision to conditionally agree to the exchange of prisoners, contingent on the end of aggression and the withdrawal of Israeli forces, demonstrates a serious commitment to humanitarian and national responsibility, while refusing to compromise the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
By emphasizing that the future of Gaza and Palestine must be decided within a comprehensive national Palestinian framework, Hamas has reaffirmed that no external power, including the United States or Israel, can unilaterally impose a political solution that isolates Gaza from the broader Palestinian cause.
MAPIM asserts that:
- Gaza is inseparable from Palestine. Any attempt to treat Gaza as an independent entity outside the national framework of Palestine is a continuation of the occupation strategy aimed at fragmenting the Palestinian people.
- Hamas’s readiness to engage in negotiations through mediators shows its openness to responsible diplomacy grounded in justice, sovereignty, and international law—not under coercion or occupation.
- Trump’s so-called peace plan remains deeply flawed, as it does not address the root causes of the conflict—namely, the illegal occupation, blockade, and systematic dispossession of the Palestinian people.
MAPIM calls upon all Muslim nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) to recognize Hamas’s measured stance as a legitimate and rational voice representing the aspirations of an oppressed nation seeking dignity, not domination.
We urge the international community to shift focus from blaming the resistance to ending the occupation, lifting the siege on Gaza, and initiating a comprehensive and just resolution that restores the full territorial, political, and human rights of the Palestinian people.
