PRESS STATEMENT
THE WORLD MUST NOT TURN AWAY FROM ISRAEL’S AGGRESSION IN LEBANON
Daily Civilian Killings Are War Crimes – Silence Is Complicity
Date: 27 October 2025 | Kuala Lumpur
The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the ongoing Israeli military aggression in Lebanon that continues to kill civilians daily in flagrant violation of international law.
Despite multiple reports confirming drone and air strikes on homes, schools, and public areas in southern and eastern Lebanon, global reaction has been disturbingly muted. The international community’s failure to respond reflects moral fatigue and political cowardice in the face of war crimes.
MAPIM stresses that no ceasefire can be genuine if Israel is allowed to continue targeting civilians under the pretext of “security operations”. Such actions constitute systematic terror against an entire population and amount to crimes against humanity.
MAPIM’S DEMANDS
- Immediate cessation of Israeli attacks on Lebanon and all civilian-populated areas.
- An independent international investigation under the UN Human Rights Council to document violations and identify perpetrators.
- A unified ASEAN–OIC stance demanding accountability for war crimes and an end to Israel’s impunity.
- Sanctions and arms embargo against Israel until compliance with international humanitarian law is verified.
- Humanitarian support and reconstruction aid for affected Lebanese communities through neutral international agencies.
MORAL ACCOUNTABILITY
The continued silence of powerful nations and international institutions represents a collapse of conscience. The same world that decries aggression elsewhere now turns a blind eye to the daily killing of Lebanese civilians — including children.
“When the world normalizes Israel’s violence in Lebanon, it abandons the very principles of humanity that sustain international law. Silence is complicity. Moral neutrality is betrayal.”
MAPIM calls on Malaysia, ASEAN, and the Muslim world to break this silence and act collectively to protect Lebanon and Palestine from the ongoing Israeli war machine.

President, MAPIM
