THE REALITY: PALESTINIAN FIGHTERS ARE FORCED TO CEASE WHILE ISRAELI OCCUPATION TROOPS ARE ALLOWED TO FIRE — CHILDREN REMAIN THE HIGHEST CASUALTIES
Date: 30 October 2025

The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) strongly condemns the ongoing violations of the so-called ceasefire in Gaza, where Palestinian resistance forces are ordered to stand down while Israeli occupation troops continue to conduct armed raids, bombardments, and assassinations with impunity.
The reality is clear: the ceasefire exists only in name. Israel has weaponized the ceasefire arrangement to entrap and eliminate Palestinian fighters, to extend its control over northern Gaza, and to continue the policy of collective punishment under international silence.
Reports from Gaza indicate that Israel has carried out more than 125 breaches of the ceasefire within the last ten days, resulting in the deaths of nearly a hundred civilians — most of them women and children. Despite the supposed cessation of hostilities, children remain the highest casualties, victims of indiscriminate shelling, sniper fire, and starvation caused by the ongoing blockade.
MAPIM asserts that this asymmetric ceasefire — where one side is restrained while the aggressor continues to kill — is not peace but a calculated extension of genocide.
Israel’s actions constitute a gross violation of international humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions, and the recent ICJ advisory opinion demanding protection of Palestinian civilians. The continuing bombardment, mass arrests, and use of live fire against unarmed civilians prove that the so-called “security operations” are nothing less than war crimes.
MAPIM’s Stand
- MAPIM demands an immediate international intervention force to enforce a genuine ceasefire and to protect civilians from Israeli aggression.
- We call on the United Nations and the OIC to reject Israel’s manipulation of ceasefire terms and to establish a permanent international monitoring mission in Gaza.
- We urge the Malaysian Government to take the lead at the ASEAN and OIC levels in pressing for an emergency resolution at the UN General Assembly for immediate protection of Palestinian civilians.
- We reaffirm that the right to resist occupation is protected under international law , and that portraying Palestinian defense as terrorism is a distortion that legitimizes war crimes.
MAPIM stresses that no ceasefire can be genuine if only Palestinians are forced to silence their weapons while Israel continues to fire upon them. Peace cannot be built upon one-sided disarmament under occupation, nor can justice coexist with systematic killing.
The world must confront the truth — Gaza’s children are still dying, and silence is complicity.
