SITUATION IN SUDAN CONFLICT IS WORSENING — MASS KILLING IN AL-FASHER BY RSF IS CONDEMNED
Date: 31 October 2025
Kuala Lumpur
The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) expresses deep outrage and condemnation over the continuing atrocities in Sudan, particularly the mass killing in Al-Fasher, reportedly carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Reliable reports confirm that hundreds of civilians, including women and children, have been massacred, with entire neighborhoods in North Darfur reduced to ruins. Hospitals, refugee shelters, and humanitarian aid centers have been attacked, forcing tens of thousands to flee under siege conditions.
MAPIM stresses that the Sudan conflict has reached catastrophic levels. What began as a power struggle between rival factions has degenerated into systematic ethnic cleansing and war crimes against defenseless populations.
The mass killing in Al-Fasher is a new chapter in a long trail of brutality, revealing the complete breakdown of order and humanity. The deliberate targeting of civilians, looting of aid convoys, and obstruction of humanitarian relief are acts that violate every principle of international humanitarian law.
MAPIM’s Stand
- MAPIM strongly condemns the RSF and all parties involved in the mass killings and calls for immediate international investigation and accountability under the UN Human Rights Council and the International Criminal Court.
- We call upon the United Nations, the African Union, and the Arab League to take urgent action to impose sanctions on those responsible for atrocities and to ensure unimpeded humanitarian access to Darfur and other affected regions.
- MAPIM urges the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to convene an emergency session on Sudan to address the worsening humanitarian situation and mobilize a coordinated response.
- We call on the Malaysian Government to support diplomatic and humanitarian initiatives for Sudan and to work with international partners in condemning the violations and providing relief aid.
MAPIM stresses that silence in the face of mass killing is complicity. The world cannot afford another Rwanda or Bosnia. The human suffering in Sudan is a stain on global conscience — one that demands decisive and united action.
MAPIM stands in solidarity with the people of Sudan, particularly the victims of Al-Fasher, and calls upon all nations to stand for justice, protection, and peace.
