Press Release* *2nd January 2026
2026 / 1447 – PALESTINE YEAR
For a Strong Global Coalition and International Action to Free Palestine
MAPIM and GCAP Call for Global United Action Across All Spheres
The year 2026 / 1447H must be marked as The Palestine Year: a year of decisive, united, and principled global action to end occupation, dismantle apartheid, and restore the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
This is no longer a moment for statements of concern or symbolic solidarity. It is a moment that demands coordinated international action across political, legal, economic, civil, and moral spheres.
GCAP and Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM) call upon governments, civil society, institutions, scholars, faith leaders, trade unions, professionals, youth movements, and ethical businesses worldwide to unite in a Global Coalition for the Liberation of Palestine.
Why 2026 / 1447 Must Be the Palestine Year
●Because decades of occupation, displacement, and collective punishment have been normalised
●Because international law has been selectively applied and systematically undermined
●Because genocide and ethnic cleansing cannot be met with neutrality
●Because silence today becomes complicity tomorrow
Palestine is not a regional issue. It is the moral litmus test of the global order.
Pillars of Global United Action
- Political and Diplomatic Action
●Coordinated pressure on governments to recognise Palestine fully
●Suspension of diplomatic privileges for the occupying regime
●Mobilisation within the UN, OIC, NAM, ASEAN, AU, and regional blocs
●Formation of an international contact group for Palestine with binding commitments - Legal and Accountability Action

Sanctions against companies complicit in occupation and apartheid

●Ending arms trade and military cooperation with the occupying power
- Civil Society and People’s Mobilisation
●Sustained global mobilisation beyond episodic protests
●Trade union solidarity actions and labour-based pressure
●University, academic, and cultural boycotts of complicity
●Faith-based mobilisation rooted in justice and human dignity
- Media, Narrative, and Knowledge Struggle
●Challenging disinformation and dehumanisation of Palestinians
●Protecting freedom of speech and academic freedom on Palestine
●Producing people-centred narratives grounded in truth and law
●Amplifying Palestinian voices, not speaking over them
- Humanitarian Protection with Dignity
●Guaranteed humanitarian access without political conditions
●Protection of aid workers and medical personnel
●Rejection of aid as a substitute for political responsibility
●Linking humanitarian action with justice and accountability
A Call to the Muslim Ummah and the World
To the Muslim Ummah , this is a moment of amanah and historical responsibility.
To the Global South,
Palestine reflects your own unfinished struggle against colonial injustice.
_To the Global North,
credibility is at stake: law, rights, and humanity must apply equally.
Unity does not mean uniformity.
It means alignment of purpose, coordination of action, and moral clarity.
*MAPIM and GCAP Commitment
In 2026 / 1447H, MAPIM* commits to:
●Strengthening global coalitions and coordinated campaigns
●Mobilising civil society, scholars, youth, and faith leaders
●Advancing legal accountability and policy advocacy
●Linking humanitarian action with long-term justice
We affirm that Palestine will not be free through charity alone, nor through silence disguised as diplomacy. Freedom requires pressure, persistence, and principled unity.
Conclusion
History will not remember how complex this issue was made to appear.
It will remember who stood, who acted, and who remained silent.
Let 2026 / 1447H be remembered as the year the world moved:
from sympathy to strategy
from outrage to organisation and from words to action
Free Palestine.
Uphold Justice.
Restore Humanity.
