MAPIM: TRUMP IS TURNING THE UNITED STATES INTO A MAFIA STATE
REFERENCING TO THE BOMBING OF VENEZUELA AND THE FORCED ARREST OF PRESIDENT NICOLÁS MADURO
Official Statement
Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia (MAPIM)
4th January 2026
Majlis Perundingan Pertubuhan Islam Malaysia MAPIM condemns in the strongest terms the reported bombing of Venezualean territory and the forced arrest and removal of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, actions publicly claimed by United States President Donald Trump.
The military strikes against Venezuela and the boastful declaration of capturing a sitting head of state mark a dangerous escalation in international conduct. This behavior reflects a transformation of the United States from a state that claims adherence to law into what increasingly resembles a mafia state, where power overrides legality and intimidation replaces diplomacy.
BOMBING A SOVEREIGN STATE AND ABDUCTING ITS LEADER
The bombing of Venezuela and the alleged forcible arrest of President Nicolás Maduro constitute:
●An unlawful use of military force
●A blatant violation of state sovereignty
●A grave breach of the United Nations Charter
●An open act ocf regime change by force
When a world power bombs another country and claims to arrest its leader without any international mandate, this is not law enforcement. This is state level coercion, indistinguishable from the methods of organized crime.
MAFIA LOGIC, NOT RULE OF LAW
A mafia state operates on intimidation, impunity, and raw power.
What we are witnessing follows the same logic:
●Bomb first, justify later
●Arrest leaders without due process
●Ignore international institutions
●Celebrate force as legitimacy
This is not global leadership. This is global bullying.
A THREAT TO GLOBAL ORDER
If such actions are allowed to stand, international law becomes meaningless.
Smaller nations and the Global South are left vulnerable in a world where might decides right.
Silence from the international community will signal acceptance of a world governed by fear, not law.
MAPIM’S POSITION
MAPIM states clearly:
●Bombing a sovereign country is aggression
●Forcibly arresting a sitting president is illegal
●Regime change by force is a crime under international law
No country has the right to act as a global enforcer
The world does not need a godfather. It needs justice, restraint, and accountability.
CALL FOR INTERNATIONAL RESPONSE
MAPIM calls upon the United Nations, ASEAN, OIC, the Non-Aligned Movement, and all principled nations to:
●Condemn the bombing of Venezuela
●Reject the forced arrest of its president
●Demand accountability and adherence to international law
●Prevent the normalization of lawless power politics
CONCLUSION
History will remember this moment.
It will ask who spoke when bombs fell and sovereignty was violated.
MAPIM chooses to speak.
We reject a mafia world order.
We stand for law, dignity, and humanity.
Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid
President MAPIM
