The Malaysian Consultative Council for Islamic Organization (MAPIM) condemns in the strongest possible terms the systematic annihilation of the healthcare system in Gaza. What is unfolding is not a humanitarian crisis — it is a premeditated collapse, enforced through collective punishment and medical blockade. This is a crime against humanity, and the silence of global institutions is intolerable.
We support and amplify the urgent appeal made by the Palestinian Ministry of Health – Gaza, issued on 10 April 2025:
EMERGENCY STATEMENT FROM THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH – GAZA
Gaza’s healthcare system is in freefall. The suffering is unspeakable. The numbers reveal a catastrophic truth:
37% of essential medicines are completely gone.
59% of critical medical consumables are no longer available.
Operating rooms, ICUs, and emergency units are running on fumes — barely able to function.
80,000 diabetic patients and 110,000 hypertensive patients are being left to deteriorate without treatment.
54% of cancer and hematology medications are totally out of stock.
Medical aid and medicine are being blocked at border crossings, deepening a man-made disaster of unimaginable scale.
This is not a natural crisis — it is the direct result of imposed siege tactics and blockade policies. The international community cannot claim ignorance. Every moment of inaction now equates to complicity in mass suffering.
MAPIM calls on:
●The World Health Organization (WHO)
●The United Nations and its relevant bodies
●The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)
●Governments with moral authority
●All people of conscience
…to act with immediate urgency to break the blockade, allow the unhindered flow of medical aid, and hold those responsible for this inhumane strangulation accountable.
